Editing Cached Index Data |

AllPodcasts.com retrieves RSS feed data, and stores it in a format that can be searched. Google does much the same thing. We provide ready access to this cached data - just click on the "cached" link in search results or in the directory to see what data is stored for each feed. But what if you, as a podcaster, want to edit the data? There's no "edit" link, and even if there was how would I know you were the one authorised to edit that feed? In practice it's pretty easy. If you want to change the data that AllPodcasts caches and searches, just change what's in your feed. The AllPodcasts spider regularly trawls its list of RSS feeds, looking for updates. When a new episode appears, all the data in the RSS feed is saved, updating all the series and episode data we store. So if you update your feed, this new data should make its way into the index on the next trawl. As usual, if you encounter any bugs or problems with this, please let me know. |
