The Audio Drama Show

This new podcast is a showcase for high quality, audio drama – plays, novels, short stories, poems – beyond the output of the relatively few major public service and commercial providers in this area.

It provides independent writers, adapters and directors with an outlet and medium to produce and distribute studio-engineered audio/radio content.  This content is quality-checked and approved before being recorded and edited.

So far, the show’s output has included a series of short stories by Charles Dickens adapted from “The Pickwick Papers” and an ongoing collection of modern stories, short and longer, from a panel of established writers.

The core production team consists of:

James Newberry: commissioner, adaptor, director, editor, actor, and producer

Nigel Banks: writer, director, editor, and actor

Robbie Burgess: sound/recording engineer and audio effects expert.

This effort is well supported by an ensemble of professional and other talented actors selected by the production team.

Episode List: March to April 2020

Title Writer

The Story of Tom Smart Charles Dickens

A story of magical transformation.  After a few too many drinks at the inn where he is staying, our hero Tom notices a strange wooden chair in his bedroom.  What follows is a fantastic encounter that changes Tom’s life forever.

The Strange Client Charles Dickens

George Heyling vows to be revenged on the man responsible for his tragedy – his father-in-law.  What follows is a path of destruction as he systematically – and legally – ruins the man’s life, engineering his death in a final, fatal confrontation.

The Grave Digger and the Goblin Queen Charles Dickens

Gabriel Grubb is a morose, lonely and drunken grave digger who hates people, particularly during the festive season.  One Christmas Eve, while at work, he encounters a startlingly scary Goblin Queen who terrorises and whisks him away to her underworld lair where Grub is shown the true human values of the season.

The Tale of Jack Martin Charles Dickens

A rollicking, enchanting tale of derring-do: featuring a hero, heroine, and a couple of posh, dastardly villains!   Jack Martin, our hero, is whisked away on a journey involving kidnap, conspiracy, sword play and a beautiful, feisty heroine in peril.

Ashes to Ashford Parts 1 & 2 Nigel Banks

Ashes to Ashford is a “quest” story…with a difference.  Instead of a heroic Odysseus, Sir Lancelot or Luke Skywalker, we have Jimmy McIver, a feckless Cockney failure living in 21st Century England.  Having made very little of his existence thus far, Jimmy is given one last chance to “make it big” by a now-deceased old school friend and success story, Roger Soul.

The Second Chance John Nevinson

Ellie is relieved that she fails to post a rancorous letter to her father.  But then, in “Sliding Doors” fashion, the letter is despatched.  Regretting the vicious content immediately, she tries to intercept its arrival – with ironically deadly results.

Black and White and Red All Over Neil Robinson

Driving home at night, Will is forced to stop after colliding with something in the road – possibly a badger?  Getting out of the car he realises quickly that something is not right.  And then the police arrive…

The Man in the Window Nigel Banks

A woman watches a man dressing mannequins in a shop window, surrounded by fog.
This leads her to fantasy, a brief connection, illness, and finally….sorrow.

Pipeline List

Father’s Day Susan Cartwright

Whodunnit Neil Robinson

Blue Belladonna Nigel Banks

Mrs Lirriper’s Lodgings Charles Dickens

Erkan Kemiksizgil Shares: 5 Best Business Podcasts You Should Listen To in 2019

Many people who work in the business industry can’t make it through a workday these days without listening to at least one podcast. Not only do people feel like they learn something from it, but it’s something to passively listen to as well.

When putting together the best business podcasts in 2019, it was worth going after someone who lives and breathes in this world every single day. Erkan Kemiksizgil is a digital marketer and entrepreneur who is always searching for new information. He gets a lot of inspiration from podcasts, so it was a pleasure to work with him to get a list of his top five right now. Here they are, in his own words.

Inside LaunchStreet

What I like about this podcast is that it puts a major focus on innovation. There are too many business owners right now who are just trying to copy off of other people who are having success. Innovation is always going to be a huge driving factor, and more people should try to untap their hidden potential.

Tony Robbins podcast

Just about everyone knows about Tony Robbins at this point, and it’s hard to avoid listening to what he has to say. He might not be for everyone, as he comes off a little too motivational at times, but he does provide enough quality information for me to keep coming back.

What I like most about him is that he provides information on stuff that simply put, just works. He tries to inspire others to put in the same type of work he does every single day to reach his goals.

Rise and Grind with Damon John

What really helped me back in my early days in business was not finding a way to increase productivity. I was not putting in the type of effort that is needed to have success. John understands that this is a problem many people face, and he talks a lot about better performance, improved productivity and setting realistic goals.

The marketing companion

Most of the podcasts I listen to that are related to business are very informative, but this is the one that borders on entertainment as well. They have a lot of celebrities come in and provide great information, with some comedy and humor along the way as well. It’s a light way to listen to something while working on projects, and occasionally there will be some great information as well.

The GaryVee audio experience

Like Tony Robbins, GaryVee might not be for everyone. However, I find him to be pretty informative in just about every single podcast he does. Say what you want about him, but he has been able to have extreme success in the industry.

The energy about him keeps things exciting. Some people have rather dull voices when it comes to podcasts, but he keeps it entertaining and makes me want to learn more from him just by the way he talks.

HappyList podcast

The podcast that makes sure you reach all the goals on your happylist – professionally or privately.

The best strategies from 17 years of building businesses with market leaders, an award-winning career as a television producer, and the everyday sweet madness of husband and dad…

Uwe von Grafenstein lives in Munich, was born in 1981, is husband, dad and entrepreneur by heart. Today he is Managing Partner of “Kalhammer & von Grafenstein GmbH” (http://www.kuvg.de) and makes people even more successful than they already are.

At the age of 21, Uwe was already the market leader in Cologne with his first company and then built up his second company, SEO Entertainment GmbH, from scratch into a multi-million Euro company within just 10 years. He successfully sold this company at the end of 2017.

Uwe was in the top 5 independent German television producers with this company, worked with personalities such as Sido, Joko & Klaas, Jérôme Boateng and Ed Sheeran and won both the German Television Prize and the Grimme Prize.

In addition, he has co-founded various companies in the fields of design, app programming, film, coaching and food, as well as being an investor and mentor.

At the age of 26, Uwe fulfilled a long-cherished dream: he hosted his own TV show on German television. RTL2 gives him the opportunity to present his ideas and visions to millions of people.

With his keynote speech BUSINESSMAGIE.de, he speaks to thousands of people every year as a speaker for large companies and passes on his 20 years of entrepreneurial experience in order to measurably increase their success.

Today Uwe lives in Munich and travels as often as possible to Los Angeles, where his family has found their second home on the beach.

In his podcast #happylist, Uwe talks about his experiences, learnings and his journey to his own goals and “happy places”. Because he still has a lot to do: To make people more successful than they were before they met him. And that also applies to you.
